Dr. Matthew Floersch, MD, is the Medical Director for Meadowlark Hills Retirement Community and operates the on-campus primary care clinic, Meadowlark Hills Medical Professionals. Dr. Matt also serves as Medical Director for both Meadowlark Hills Home Health and the Parkinson’s Program of Manhattan at Meadowlark Hills.
Attention car-lovers of all ages! An exciting event is planned for Friday, June 20, starting at 6 p.m. to display cars from past decades!
You’re invited to view cars including a 1946 Hudson, 1971 Chevrolet pickup, 1963 Cadillac, 1927 T-Bucket, 1938 Chevrolet, 1958 Mercury, 1965 Mustang Fastback, 1966 Mustang Convertible, 1957 Thunderbird, 1967 Mustang and 1968 Charger—just to name a few! Also showcasing their wheels are Shawn and Stefani Morris, Pizazz Salon Stylists and Trish Reichert, Wroten Household Nurse.
Currently, the Dementia Caregiver’s Support Group, led by Kristen Martin, Social Services Leader and Amanda Rall, Resident Services Leader, meets every Thursday at 3:30 p.m. This group is taking on a new perspective. Once a month on every third Thursday, beginning June 19 in the KSU Classroom, we will be incorporating a Memory Support Group for the loved-ones of our group attendees. This will be called the Dementia Caregiver Support Group 2.0.

It is that time again to put in your order for Meadowlark Hills apparel! There are two new items that have been added to the apparel choices: Meadowlark Hills hats and a tumbler cup. The price for the tumbler cup is $5. An additional color has been added to the polo shirt option, which now includes white.

Marla Bugbee was recently awarded the Who’s Who in Clovia Alumna award. Clovia 4-H House was established by former 4-H girls at Kansas State University in 1931. It holds the distinction of KSU’s first cooperative living house. Today Clovia 4-H House continues to provide the most affordable housing for women students at KSU. Former 4-H women live together in a cooperative manner, sharing an average of five hours per week of housework and food preparation. The Kansas 4-H Foundation serves as the landlord for the Clovia house.
For the month of June, the Jeans Days will benefit the Good Samaritan Fund. On Tuesday, June 10, and Wednesday, June 18, employees are welcome to wear jeans to work with a minimum donation of $1. If you wish to donate to the cause, see Christina Strange in the Human Resources office, across from Verna Belle’s Café.
John Mann received the Manhattan Legacy Award on Monday, May 19, at the Meadowlark Hills Legacy Banquet.
Coach Bill Snyder, head coach for the Kansas State University football program, was the speaker for the evening. “Manhattan, Kansas is a special community,” Coach Snyder said. “All of us here chose to stay and the value of Manhattan is its people; people who genuinely care.”
