Meadowlark Cancer Program

Welcome to the Meadowlark Cancer Program — the newest of our community health programs. It builds off of what we’ve learned from the Meadowlark Parkinson’s Program and the Meadowlark Memory Program. In keeping with our mission, programming is free of charge and open to anyone in the Flint Hills or neighboring communities.

Cancer is difficult, finding resources shouldn’t be. Yet for many in the region, a cancer journey involves navigating multiple medical providers in potentially different cities. That’s why our Cancer Program is committed to giving you easy access to educational programming, reliable resources, and a compassionate cancer community.

A cancer diagnosis isn’t linear, there is no “normal” path. One day you’re a patient; another time a caregiver; and potentially a survivor facing a recurrence, spread, or lingering treatment side effects. Or, perhaps you’re juggling multiple roles at one time.  We’ll continue to grow and adjust programming with this reality in mind. To keep up-to-date of Cancer Program offerings, please join our mailing list.

Cancer Program Education Event: A Multi-Disciplinary Approach to Your Care

Tuesday, April 29, at 5:30 p.m. / Manhattan Public Library Auditorium

Join us for a special event as Meadowlark introduces a new community program. The Cancer Program is a supportive, community-centered initiative designed for individuals navigating cancer and their care partners.

We’re honored to welcome Stephanie Johnson, PT, MPT, as our featured speaker. Stephanie is a Kansas native and a highly experienced physical therapist who has worked in a wide range of settings over her career. She holds certifications in functional applied science and oncology rehabilitation and co-founded Maximum Performance Physical Therapy and Fitness with her husband, Scott, in 2011.

Stephanie’s presentation, "A Multi-Disciplinary Approach to Your Cancer Journey," will offer insight into how a team-based strategy—integrating physical therapy, emotional support, medical care, and more—can enhance healing and quality of life during and after cancer treatment.

This event is free and open to the public—no registration required! Light refreshments will be served.

Whether you're living with cancer, supporting someone who is, or simply want to learn more, come be part of this growing community of support, connection, and hope.
