A week-long celebration at Prairie Star Restaurant and Event Venue to mark the 12th annual HOGtoberfest brought squeal-worthy attention to Meadowlark Foundation’s Good  Samaritan Fund. Not only did this annual event encourage giving in variety of ways — food and beverage purchases, raffle tickets, donations, and sponsorships — but it also prompted discussions about the Fund’s mission: to assist Meadowlark residents who live in a healthcare household and who also have exhausted their financial resources. To these ends, this FOOD, FRIENDS, and FUNdraising event, Oct. 24 through Oct. 30, was a HOG-tastic success. The event generated more than $14,000 in revenue and gift-in-kind contributions.

Here are a two additional numbers and a few more winners:
~ 1,400: Number of raffle tickets sold at $5 each. 2025 is the first year every printed ticket was sold!
~ $1,585.80: Amount of donations prompted by the event.

Resident and Meadowlark Market volunteer Don Dibble won a $100 prize for selling the winning $2000 raffle ticket, which was purchased at the Market. Trisha Montgomery, Health Service Assistant, earned $100 cash for selling 164 tickets.

For several years, Meadowlark employees who purchase raffle tickets have been eligible for a 5th prize, available only to staff members. Lucky Trisha Montgomery also won a personalized parking spot for a year in the on-campus location of her choice.

Meadowlark Foundation is grateful to the many who contributed to the success of HOGtoberfest. This includes raffle ticket and/or food and beverage buyers, donors, volunteers, musicians, and the Prairie Star Restaurant team. Support also comes from generous event sponsors: Steel & Pipe Supply, McCullough Development, Bell Family Foundation, BHS Construction, Burnett Automotive, Flint Hills Beverage, Mr. K’s Café & Bar, and Sir Speedy. Thank you!
