Coping Together: Tools for Staying Close with Loved Ones Through the Cancer Journey

Tuesday, June 3, 2025 - 6:00pm

Location: TBD

In this evening session, Dr. Jared Durtschi, a professor in Couple and Family Therapy, will present on helping loved ones - spouses, friends, care partners, and family members - empathize and stay connected with each other through the highs and lows of having cancer. This presentation's primary focus will be practical tips for communication, mutual support, and ideas to stay connected and close throughout cancer treatment. The presentation will talk about keeping hope alive, creating and using a support network, and practicing self-care. He will incorporate his personal experience of supporting his wife through breast cancer just a few years ago.

Adults of any age, and their loved ones, are invited to attend. The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.

Whether you're living with cancer, supporting someone who is, or simply want to learn more, you're invited to be a part of this growing community of support connection, and hope.

RSVPs are appreciated to help us plan refreshments, but you're welcome to join us even if you don't get a chance to reply.
