Letter from Lonnie

By Lonnie Baker on May 16, 2013

As the dust begins to settle, inevitable decisions and transitions are beginning to take shape. I participated in a learning circle with staff members on Wednesday, May 8, to discuss the changes. First off, my previous position, Chief Operating Officer (COO), will not be filled. I am happy to say that by removing the COO position, a layer will be eliminated from the organizational structure. The COO responsibilities will be distributed among three of our current staff members: Garrett Lee, Annie Peace and Sarah Guge.

Garrett Lee, Health Services Director, will have oversight of the Physician’s Practice, Home Health, Household Operations, Food and Beverage Services, Therapy Services, Nursing Services and Social Services.

Annie Peace, Support Services Director, is responsible for Education Services, Environmental Services, Information Technology and Health Information Management, Finance Services and Human Resources.

Sarah Guge, Community Relations Director, will be responsible for Resident Services, Sales, Fitness and Massage, the Parkinson’s Program, Marketing and Public Relations.

Meagan Florie, Chief Financial Officer (CFO), will continue with her current role. The only change in her oversight will be the direct reporting relationships that have been transferred to Annie.

As may be expected, office moves will occur in the near future. Please watch the Meadowlark Hills Messenger for updates on new office locations! I am excited to move forward with Meadowlark Hills and focusing on the vibrant community here in Manhattan, Kansas.

If you have questions, concerns or comments, please contact myself, Garrett, Annie or Sarah. Each of us is happy to visit with you. I am very thankful for all the support and well wishes many have offered during my transition. I am truly blessed to be a part of this special community.
