I had always heard Meadowlark Hills is for older adults, but when I moved in, I found out Meadowlark Hills keeps us young.

Speedy PD 2016 — A Race to Remember!
And the numbers are in for The Speedy PD Race for Parkinson’s Disease that was held at Tuttle Creek State Park in Manhattan, Kan., on Saturday, Aug. 27, 2016! Despite a rainy start to the morning (you may recall the storm that rolled through around 4:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 27), the weather turned beautiful by 7 a.m. and made being outdoors for the race and party-like atmosphere very enjoyable.
On Changes Baby Boomers will Need to Demand

First, let this be clear: Meadowlark provides wonderfully for us. The following applies to the city of Manhattan, its businesses and doctors’ offices.
Most birds soon will be pumping up for migration. Some of their journeys are legend, but perhaps none so much as for the delicate monarch butterfly.
This marvelous animal weighs less than one gram, of which it takes 28.35 to make an ounce. By contrast, an adult ruby-throated hummingbird weighs about 3.2 grams. The monarch's bird-like annual migration to one small mountainous area in central Mexico (and back again) is unique in the insect world and especially remarkable because the insects have no elders to show them the way.

The Kansas Room & Pub will be under construction starting Tuesday, Aug. 23. The Kansas & Pub will not be closed during construction work, but the table in front of where the window is currently located will not be accessible. The construction is estimated to be completed in a week.
What’s for dinner?
I come to you all with crimson cheeks and recently expanded knowledge on local sculptors. I haven’t decided what I am having for dinner – I will either be eating crow or putting my foot in my mouth. Either way, what follows is the real story behind that beautiful sculpture on the patio.
Thank you to all of those who have generously donated towards purchasing newer style grocery carts!
The goal is to phase out the old carts and purchase several more of the newer style grocery carts. The last carts were funded through resident donation at a cost of approximately $200 per cart. With that same generous spirit, we could purchase several additional new carts.
A friendly reminder that if you are still wanting to donate — its not too late! Donations can be turned in at the Hospitality Desk.
