Q: Where did a lot of the things go that were taken to the Market that never made it to the market?

Here is what I learned. Donations are received year-round for the Market. When a donation is received that the staff believes could be used right away, the donation is offered to the team that is seeking an item.

There are also some presale options before the Market opens for business. Prior to the sale, each household is offered a choice of one furniture item and one other household item (like a wall hanging or lamp) to utilize in their house. Each volunteer that helps with the Market is allowed to choose one item before the sale opens, but it cannot be a large item like furniture. Thank you for another great question and please keep them coming.
