Jen Schoenhofer, Director of Nursing

Jen Schoenhofer, RN, assumes the pivotal role of Director of Nursing Services at Meadowlark, where her leadership is characterized by a commitment to team building, resident advocacy, and the delivery of high-quality care with a focus on resident-centered outcomes.

Joining the Meadowlark family in April 2015, Jen brings a wealth of diverse medical experience to her position. Her extensive background includes roles in the emergency room, pediatrics (encompassing home health, triage, and clinic settings), and dermatology. Demonstrating her leadership acumen, Jen served as the Director of Nursing (DON) starting in 2008 in Wilson, Kansas, before making a significant impact in Denver as a DON for a large skilled facility.

A proud graduate of the Kansas Wesleyan University RN Program in 2000, Jen's roots trace back to Chapman, Kansas, where she completed her high school education. Alongside her professional achievements, Jen values her family life. She and her husband, Mike, have created a blended family with five children: Shane, Taylor, Shannon, Cameron, and Trinity.

Jen's tenure at Meadowlark Hills is marked by a genuine appreciation for the unique culture of care within the community. She notes the deep connections staff form with residents, a level of compassion that sets Meadowlark apart from other retirement communities. In her own words, the camaraderie extends beyond resident care to the staff itself, exemplifying a collective commitment to the well-being of the entire community.

Beyond her professional responsibilities, Jen finds joy in the vibrant seasons of Manhattan, Kansas. She particularly appreciates the breathtaking display of flowering trees in spring, with a special affinity for the ephemeral beauty of the pink magnolia tree. While her professional focus is on the well-being of residents, Jen's appreciation for the natural beauty surrounding Meadowlark reflects her holistic approach to care and well-being.
