UFM Lifetime Learning presents Kansas Trails and Cowboy Poetry taught by Ron Wilson. This two-session course will begin Tuesday, Feb. 13, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. in the Community Room. The second session will meet Tuesday, Feb. 20.
Some sources say that Kansas likely has more frontier trails than any other state. Those trails played a fundamental role in the history of the nation and certainly of the Old West, providing a setting where the American cowboy first came to life. This class will use a cowboy perspective, including cowboy poetry, to share the creation and the legacy of the historic trails of Kansas.
Enrollment is now open and can be completed by calling (785) 539-8763. This class is offered through UFM at no charge to Meadowlark residents, and Passport members may attend with a 20-percent discount.
