Becky Fitzgerald, Development Director, Meadowlark Foundation

Becky Fitzgerald serves as the Development Director for the Meadowlark Foundation, where she plays a pivotal role in creating, nurturing, and sustaining relationships with donors, residents, and staff. In her capacity, Becky is dedicated to cultivating philanthropic contributions and providing individuals with the opportunity to contribute their time, talents, and resources to advance the mission of Meadowlark.

Her journey with Meadowlark began in 2003 when she joined as the Community Relations Coordinator. In 2005, Becky made a significant transition to the sales team, focusing on independent and assisted living. Demonstrating her commitment and capabilities, she assumed the position of Development Director in June 2014, bringing a wealth of experience and dedication to her role.

Becky's educational background includes graduating from Wellington High School in 1982 and earning a bachelor's degree in journalism and mass communications from Kansas State University in 1985. Before joining Meadowlark Hills, she held prominent roles such as Lifestyle Editor at the Salina Journal and Assistant Editor of Powercat Illustrated, a former K-State sports magazine. Becky has also been a co-owner of Spirit Street Publishing since 1998.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Becky is actively involved in the community. She served as a past member of the Friends of McCain Board of Directors, where she chaired the Audience Development Committee. Additionally, she is a valued member of Manhattan Chapter BD of PEO and participates in the community through her affiliation with Rock Hills Church.

Residing in Manhattan with her husband, Tim, and their two dogs, Darla and Daphne, Becky brings a personal touch to her work. She cherishes the period between November 20 and December 31, which encompasses her birthday, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Eve. Becky appreciates the kindness extended by her co-workers and residents during this festive season, creating an atmosphere of warmth and appreciation.

Becky's favorite space within the Meadowlark community is the Prairie Star Pub in the Community Center. Here, she enjoys not only the unique cocktails but also the camaraderie of regular patrons who share stories, secrets, and laughter. Her genuine passion for Meadowlark's mission and her engaging personality makes her an invaluable asset to the organization and the community it serves.
