Join Meadowlark Parkinson's Program for an evening to celebrate living well with Parkinson's disease Friday, August 23, 2019, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Empowered LIVE! is an opportunity to learn about Parkinson's disease and engage with others. Event is sponsored by Vanderbilt's in Wamego, KS.
Our special guest speaker, Tim Hauge Sr. will present "Live Your Best" at 6:30 p.m. Tim, a retired nurse, now devotes his time to professional speaking and writing. Tim is the founder of U-Turn Parkinson's, a Parkinson's wellness center and author of the best selling book, Perseverance: The Seven Skills You Need to Survive, Thrive, and Accomplish More Than You Ever Imagined. Two years after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, Tim and his son applied for, were accepted to and won season one of The Amazing Race Canada.
Visit our vendors to learn more about available Parkinson's disease treatments and resources. VIPd's (Very Important Persons with Parkinson's disease) will have displays of their craftsmanship and creative talents.
A refreshing and healthy meal will be served. Cost is $15 per person and $7 for children 10 years or younger. A cash bar is available.
