Q: Tell us again how to recycle as in what numbers on plastic we can consider recycling. And, where do we put it and how it must be bagged if that is necessary. Who picks it up and when? And, what if it can’t be recycled?
Q: How long should we keep items of importance, i.e. Income tax returns, bank statements, credit card receipts, and what should we shred? Also, how do we decommission a computer before getting rid of it?
What a great question for this time of year as tax season approaches! Each of us probably has a stack of documents we are gathering in preparation of filing our taxes, and some of us may even have years’ worth of previous filed tax returns lurking in our filing cabinets. So, how long should we maintain these documents?

During the past several months, Meadowlark Hills has hosted a set of beehives on our campus. These were cared for by beekeeper, Gary LaGrange.
Q: Where did a lot of the things go that were taken to the Market that never made it to the market?
Here is what I learned. Donations are received year-round for the Market. When a donation is received that the staff believes could be used right away, the donation is offered to the team that is seeking an item.
Q: What is the age break down for Independent Living residents? How many are in their 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and 100’s? What is the average age of new residents in the last one or two years?
Thanks for the question. Here is the breakdown you asked about Independent Living ages. There are four residents in their sixties, sixty-nine residents in their seventies, one hundred and five residents in their eighties, fifty residents in their nineties, and two residents in their hundreds, in Independent Living.
Q: In the Friday Mercury from Sept. 12, 2014 they listed parcels of land owned by the city. Three parcels had the address of our main building, 2121 Meadowlark Road, 1239 Meadowlark Valley and 2161 Meadowlark Road. Why?

Meadowlark Hills Foundation board member Jackie Hartman arrived at last week’s HOG & Kisses Contest prepared to give Hazel Hog a big smooch. Wearing jeans, a HOGtoberfest T-shirt and lipstick in a deep pink shade, Jackie was walking across the Cox Bros. BBQ parking lot when she encountered a friend who had contributed to her hog kissing campaign. He pulled a small bottle of mouth wash from his pocket, telling Jackie he wanted her to be ready if she should have the opportunity to pucker up.
Q: Has all the moisture we have had during the project affected the concrete project?
Thank you for your questions, I am excited we are nearing the finish of this major project. We are now planning for the curbs and parking spaces to be repainted. This project has created yet another learning opportunity for me. Here is what I have learned from the professionals about how the moisture was managed for this project.
