Speedy Pd (Virtual) Race for Parkinson's disease

Welcome to the Speedy Pd Page!

Speedy Pd Race for Parkinson's Disease is going virtual this year!

While things will look different this year, the planning committee and Meadowlark Parkinson’s Program leaders look forward to connecting with runners online through social media, e-mail, and video. The virtual race format will give race registrants the opportunity to complete the half-mile family fun run/walk, 5K, or 10K between Aug. 23 and Sept. 7, 2020. Runs/walks should be completed utilizing appropriate social distance recommendations.

Register for the half-mile family fun run/walk, 5K, or 10K by clicking the "Register Now" button below. Once registered, participants will receive e-mails and/or text messages to share more about the VIPds, Meadowlark Parkinson’s Program, and all the generous sponsors, including this year’s presenting sponsor – Community First National Bank.

Prior to Aug. 23, 2020, runners/walkers will receive their bib number, race packet, and limited-edition Speedy Pd buff in the mail. Participants are encouraged to document race participation on social media and tune into the virtual events leading up to race time.

Want to join the fight against Parkinson's Disease? Don your running (or walking!) shoes and  register as a participant.

More About (the typical) Speedy Pd

The Speedy Pd has one of the most unique race courses in this area. In usual times, the race is set at the beautiful Tuttle Creek State Park, and the 5K and 10K courses are USATF certified since 2013! Both courses are on all-paved roads. The 5K course is very flat to the finish. The 10K course is also very flat and shaded throughout the course. Both courses include scenic views of the lake, and a great atmosphere with volunteers and supporters lining the course.

The race routes are stroller friendly, and we encourage the whole family to attend!

The annual Speedy Pd 5K/10K and Family Fun Run benefits Meadowlark Parkinson's Program. The Program provides services in the Flint Hills region to improve the quality of life for all those affected by Parkinson’s disease including persons with PD, caregivers, therapists, and nurses. Generous donations help ensure Meadowlark Parkinson's Program is able to continue and expand opportunities for education, outreach, scholarships for medical purposes, medical care, and create a future Parkinson's resource center for the Kansas region.
