Manhattan is home to Kansas State University, home of the nationally ranked Wildcats.  With a student population of over 20,000. It's also rich in diversity.

The Galichia Center on Aging coordinates and develops educational and training programs in aging, stimulates aging research, coordinates outreach activities, and serves as a referral center for information on aging resources in Kansas.  Meadowlark Hills is teaching classroom for the center and a learning lab for the students and faculty.

Chenny Troupe is an example of a pet therapy group whose goals parallel those of Meadowlark Hills' Pet Therapy program.

Many of our nursing staff received their training at Manhattan Area Technical College. A description and course of study are included.

KAHSA is a "not-for-profit association representing over 150 not-for-profit community, church and government sponsored adult care homes, retirement communities, and social service programs for the elderly."

The Kansas Department on Aging (KDOA) is committed to ensuring high quality services for Kansas nursing home residents. KDOA developed an on-going initiative in 2002 to “Promote Excellent Alternatives in Kansas Nursing Homes” (PEAK) to support nursing homes instituting non-traditional models of care with progressive environments, a movement known nationally as “culture change.”  Meadowlark has won the PEAK Award multiple times in each discipline.

The Kansas Culture Change Coalition is a group that provides support to long-term care organizations
striving to develop systems that value the dignity of each individual who lives and works within their
setting. It is an organization of diverse interest groups that combine their talents to effect change that is
hard to do as individuals.
